How to Glow Up After a Breakup

He was my first boyfriend. I wouldn’t say we were in love, but it was teenage infatuation and at that age it feels the same. We hung out and I tried my best to be pleasing to him. He was an…

A new kid in town

A week of clicking around the ‘new neighborhood of Medium.com has been like taking a drink from a fire hydrant. If you’ve ever been so unfortunate as to have done that, you know what information overload can do to one’s anatomy. Glancing about assures me that a working writer can gain traction here.

Clearly, I will qualify to be poster child for ‘Dumbest Person In The Room’. That is the rank I aspire to. I have found a place to learn.

A place to learn & the chance to make a few bucks with my metaphorical pen. I’m sure I can find my place as a working writer here. I sense an audience eager to see the ‘new kid’ succeed.

Know that I hold ‘staying teachable’ high on my list of ongoing personal goals. I refer to it daily . It is my default piece of advice.

Having printed it on the inside of my forehead with a red magic marker tells you how important the admonition is to me. I consider it some of my finest writing.

As George Burns once advised: “When you steal, steal from the best.”

I have and I did.

What draws me to the keyboard just now is not the creative urge demanding to be loosed upon the world. Nor am I here to pay homage to the great George Burns.

No noble motives here or profound wisdom to impart.

I’m here as a writer new to Medium to simply practice hitting the ‘publish’ button.

They say that practice makes perfect so you will understand if I do so regularly and for a long time.

Thank you ever so much for reading. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll get on with what I rolled over to the keyboard to do.
